Präst® has its roots in 18th century Småland. The name comes from the fact that the cheese served as a means of payment when it was time to pay church tax to the priest. During the cheese-making process, a little extra cream was added to appease the priest, and even today Präst® is a little fatter than other cheeses. Our Präst® is made at Kalmar dairy farm on fresh milk from Öland and Småland. The Arla Ko® brand guarantees that the cheese is made from 100 percent Swedish milk.
